DIY Large Art for Autumn
Hello friends. I hope you are enjoying the Fall tablescapes this week! You guys have been great with your kind comments! They are so encouraging and truly mean the world to me. It seems like you really enjoyed the mix of cultures I incorporated into my Fall decor. I’m carrying the theme into the foyer with DIY Large Art for Fall featuring a gorgeous Japanese print on washi paper.
I found this beautiful washi paper for around $6 when we first moved to Okinawa. It sat in my closet the entire time we’ve lived here but I knew it would make gorgeous large art for not much money!I purchased two large frames at a Japanese store called Nitori. They have plexi glass instead of real glass and were a steal at only $18 a piece. Perfect for this inexpensive project. The washi paper was large enough to cut into two pieces for the frames. You could also use a pretty wrapping paper or craft paper for a similar affect. My large prints are styled with a Japanese rice basket in the same color palette, a pair of thrifted abacuses, and Sakura paper flowers.
A vignette isn’t complete without some local finds from the beach! Seriously, they are everywhere in this house. We love our seaglass, coral, and seashells!
It all compliments the other side of the foyer (which I shared in my Fall home tour) perfectly. I’m really enjoying decorating with red and blue! Who knew. 😉
A few of my friends are sharing their Fall space with DIY and decorating tips. Let’s go see what they’ve been up to! Shall we?
