Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Clerkenwell Design Week

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Clerkenwell Design Week which opens its doors from May 19-21, 2019. It promises an extra exciting agenda celebrating design and creativity, with installations, fringe events, pop-ups, workshops, talks, and showroom presentations happening all across the district.

To mark the decade milestone of the independent design week, CDW 2019 will have the biggest and best program yet. Here’s what you can expect:

House of Detention, Natasha Lopez

Bring your walking shoes. CDW has collaborated with the Graphic Design Communication students from the Chelsea College of Arts to put on “Once Upon A Time,” a series of graphic installations that are inspired by significant areas around London. If you’re not too tired, Lansdown’s London will host a series of historical walks that celebrate makers, from clock makers to gin distillers. If you’re still not tired, follow the “Decade” trail which will be marked by ten 3-meters-high candle-like beacons to guide you across the exhibition route.

Deadgood

Over 100 showrooms are participating in CDW and will provide visitors with free talks, workshops, installation viewings, and parties. (So bring your party outfit too!) Confirmed showrooms include Arper, Ceramiche Caesar, Flokk, and Mosa.
