Here’s What Design Milk Will Be up to During NYCxDESIGN
Our excitement is building as the biggest event of the year fast approaches. At this year’s NYCxDESIGN, Design Milk has a full agenda of things we want to put on your radar! Come check us out at…
1) The Milk Stand at ICFF
For the fifth year in a row, we’re setting up our Milk Stand pop-up shop at ICFF! This is the only cash-and-carry booth at the fair, so stop by booth #209 to shop from our group of 15 independent designers and makers selling their latest collections of ceramics, textiles, modern jewelry, home accessories, and more.
Joining us in the booth this year is: beroep|tech, Bethanie Kaye, Graf Lantz, Harlem Heirloom, Lace by Jenny Wu, KARU, Kevin Wilcoxson Studio, KONZUK, KROFT, LUPA, MGG Studio, SSEN, TRIPTYCH, WAIWAI, and Wood&Faulk. Special thanks to Michael Yarinsky Studio for designing our booth!
2) ICFF
Design Milk is also an ICFF media partner this year. We’ll be on the show floor scouring each and every aisle checking out the latest trends and collections. Check out our pre-show coverage here and here, and be sure to stay tuned post-show to see the round-up of our favorite designs that caught our eye!
3) The Conversation Series at WantedDesign Manhattan
In partnership with WantedDesign and Clever, Design Milk will be hosting a Conversation Series, a series of talks with industry leaders and experts that will explore topics that are currently trending in the design world today, like designing with climate change in mind.
The talks will take place on May 18th + 19th, and on each day, Clever will be hosting live interviews with guest Humberto Campana of Campana Brothers Studio and guest Gregg Buchbinder, CEO of Emeco. Can’t catch the interviews? You can listen to it later on cleverpodcast.com. Special thanks to our sponsors Tarkett and Paintzen!
4) LaunchPad
Last but not least, Design Milk will be judging the international LaunchPad competition at WantedDesign. This international platform gives emerging designers the opportunity to present their innovative concepts, prototypes, and designs. There will be two winners this year – one for the furniture category and one for the lighting category – and if you want to weigh in on who you think should win, you can vote here through May 22nd.
Judging alongside our very own Jaime Derringer of Design Milk will be Marva Griffin Wilshire, Founder and Curator of SaloneSatellite and International Press Director of Salone del Mobile Milano; Giulio Cappellni, Creative Director of Cappellini; Thom Fougere, Creative Director of EQ3; and Shant Madjarian, Founder & Creative Director of Juniper. Check out the full list of designers here. Special thanks to sponsor EQ3!
