Fictions by Collectif des Créateurs Canadiens Virtual Exhibition
Fictions is an immersive virtual experience created by Collectif des Créateurs Canadiens and curated by Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte, who himself is a Montreal native. Unveiling Thursday, April 22nd, the virtual exhibition will showcase new and exclusive works by eight Canadian designers: Atelier Zébulon Perron, Claste Collection, David Umemoto, Lambert & Fils, Loïc Bard, Pascale Girardin, SSSVLL and Yannick Pouliot.
Thirteen pieces are placed within a nondescript post-apocalyptic environment set within the heart of Montreal, each of which exploring the multidimensional facets of shape, materiality, and function. Boundaries between art and design are blurred, questioning both the intention and the user.
As described by Laurence Gélinas, executive director of CCC, ““Fictions takes visitors on an intriguing and mysterious journey, featuring eight designers and artists who pay tribute to the fabric of Montreal. How did these elegant and majestic pieces end up here, in this forbidden space? Rich in textures of light and sound, the exhibition is discovered slowly, almost secretively – but its legacy, and its Montreal spirit, remain with the viewer long after they have left the premises.”
For the duration of one week, viewers will be invited to peer inside the world of Fictions where they will be prompted to immerse themselves through the choice of four camera angles. The voyeuristic setting is reminiscent of 70s sci-fi surveillance cameras, marrying the footage shot by Pierre-Alexandre Guay and Director of Photography Alex Lesage. Upon launch, the collection will be exclusively sold at Adorno.
