The Kasual Collection: Balance in the Age of Casual
Karim Rashid has been working hard – we’ve already shared a few of his collaborations this year. The dreamy Kasual collection, for which he partnered with Essential Home, is the stuff of futuristic dreams. With our lives in constant flux, Rashid designed a furniture and lighting collection for the present. “Casualism is the future. Home is now work, sanctuary, school, art gallery, restaurant, movie theater,” he said. Kasual is a balance of comfort, simplicity, beauty, and form that suits every setting with casual yet luxurious pieces that are timelessly mid-century.
Soft and elegant, with lots of attention to detail, the six pieces that make up Kasual are functional and stunning. Rashid shared, “I would refer to the Kasual collection as casual luxury with fabrics and details that are rich, yet with a minimal simple softness and ease where new comforts prevail. Our home furnishings must take on greater importance to support our life with comfort, ergonomics, and contemporary inspiration!”
The Klaude Sofa features sloping arms that beckon to you to take a seat. Described as an “ice cream sandwich-like” shape, its contemporary design is created with sturdy, high-quality fabrics. Each Kasual piece feels soft and easy to interact with, particularly the modular Karlotta Sofa with its pebble shaped forms. The Karlotta Single Sofa and Karlotta Pouf follow the same design style that’s futuristic with a touch of Memphis design and vibrant colors. The serpentine Kay Sofa provides a chic place to relax and dream with a comfortable, distinctive shape. Customize the perfect seating arrangement using Kandi Modular Seating. Geometric and refined, the curvaceous modules can be organized to achieve the perfect setup.
